The CSM role isn’t your typical job—it’s about being the bridge between our clients’ goals and our ability to deliver exceptional results. Why the Customer Success Manager Role Exists

In the past, we had two distinct roles—account managers and project managers. While they served important functions, there was a gap. Account managers didn’t always have a deep understanding of the technical solutions we deliver, and project managers often lacked the business development mindset needed to unlock growth opportunities.


That’s why we created the CSM role—a hybrid position that brings together the best of both worlds. As a CSM, you’ll have the technical background to engage deeply with clients and the strategic mindset to drive growth.


What You’ll Do as a CSM

In this role, you’ll focus on 1 to 3 key accounts—those with the biggest growth potential over the next 6 to 12 months. You’ll act as a trusted partner to our clients, driving successful project delivery and helping them navigate their challenges while identifying opportunities for innovation.


Your Key Responsibilities

1. Delivery Excellence

  • Be the trusted advisor. You’ll take the time to understand your clients’ needs, their business challenges, and their goals, aligning Aliz’s capabilities to deliver impactful results.
  • Problem-solve effectively. You’ll be the go-to person for clients when challenges arise, ensuring smooth collaboration and high satisfaction.
  • Oversee project execution. This includes managing timelines, understanding technical dependencies, and working with your Project Manager to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Foster happy teams. A successful project comes from a happy and motivated engineering team, so you’ll work to ensure seamless collaboration between Aliz and the client’s teams.
  • Build relationships. You’ll meet with clients frequently, including in-person meetings, to strengthen partnerships and maintain open communication.

2. Technical Account Management

  • Drive growth. You’ll create and execute comprehensive account scaling strategies, including co-developing data, AI, and cloud strategies with clients.
  • Upsell and cross-sell. By deeply understanding your client’s organization, you’ll identify opportunities to expand the partnership into new domains or extend existing projects.
  • Own financials. You’ll be responsible for program financials, including profitability, gross margin calculations, and revenue planning.
  • Show value. You’ll craft compelling success stories and present the ROI and business impact of Aliz’s projects, demonstrating tangible value to clients.


Collaboration Is Key

This role is about leadership, but it’s not a one-person show. You’ll work closely with:

  • A Project Manager who supports you in delivery and execution. You’ll be their senior superior, guiding them to ensure best-in-class project management.
  • An Account Executive who helps with high-level strategic meetings and building executive relationships, but the accountability for the account lies with you. You’re in the driver’s seat.
  • Google stakeholders, such as Technical Account Managers and Customer Engineers, to ensure collaboration across all levels.
