For our European Headquarters in Frankfurt am Main area (Offenbach) we are looking for an IT professional as:
Middleware Engineer (f/m/d)
As a Middleware Engineer (f/m/d), you will be a member of the Cloud Technology Section and you will manage the WAS systems.
Key responsibilities
- Administration, operations, and maintenance of middleware components, REST API interfaces, and application support systems (IIS, Apache/Tomcat, Nginx/Tomcat, Weblogic/OracleHTTP, Jeus/Webtob, etc.)
- Administration, operations, and maintenance of related databases - basic support only
- Install and configure software as required
- Planning and implementation of upgrades and expansion of existing systems
- Proactively manage and maintain security standards and controls.
- Apply necessary updates to assure system integrity.
- Actively seek to optimize and simplify our architecture.
- Processing of day-to-day operations, as part of the use of our application systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve related issues
- Close cooperation and troubleshooting with the infrastructure, security, application, and development teams
- Creation and maintenance of documentation in your area of responsibility
- Ensure SLAs & operational KPIs are met, working as necessary with internal and external support functions when major incidents occur.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience administering enterprise application servers (IIS, Tomcat, Jeus, Weblogic).
- Experience administering web servers like Apache, Nginx, or others.
- Knowledge and understanding of Containers; Kubernetes and Docker; Code Repositories; Log monitoring.
- Knowledge and understanding of Databases such as Oracle, MsSQL, Postgres, and MariaDB.
- Experience should include handling web and application servers and their security-related requirements (in particular certificates, keystores, etc.), HA configurations, and application deployment.
- Strong practical experience in operating production systems.
- Willingness to extend expertise to other technologies within the DevOps area.
- International working experience and very good communication and teamwork skills.
- Proactive attitude, problem-solving skills, and goal-oriented approach.
- High degree of professionalism, responsibility, and quality awareness.
- Very good English skills - written and spoken.
