Position: Human Resources Specialist
Location: Montijo, Lisbon, Portugal
We are looking for an “Human Resources Specialist” to work on our luxury residential project in Lisbon Montijo.
Job Description:
1. Immigration & Visa Processing
· Manage visa applications, renewals, and work permits for international workers.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immigration laws and regulations in relevant countries.
· Coordinate with government agencies, embassies, and consulates to facilitate visa processes.
· Track visa expiration dates and work permit statuses, ensuring timely renewals.
· Assist workers and staff with required documentation, appointments, and legal procedures.
2. Personnel & Workforce Management
· Oversee employee records, contracts, and payroll in accordance with company policies.
· Maintain and update attendance, leaves, and performance evaluation records.
· Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and termination processes.
· Ensure compliance with labor laws, employment regulations, and company policies.
· Handle employee concerns, conflicts, and disciplinary actions in collaboration with management.
3. Travel & Relocation Support
· Organize international travel arrangements (flights, accommodations, transport) for workers.
· Provide guidance on immigration requirements, customs regulations, and local laws.
· Ensure employees receive necessary pre-departure and arrival briefings.
· Coordinate with project managers and site teams to align staffing with work schedules.
4. Compliance & Documentation
· Maintain accurate personnel files, including copies of passports, visas, and contracts.
· Ensure all employee work authorizations comply with local labor and immigration laws.
· Prepare reports on workforce statistics, visa processing updates, and legal compliance.
· Handle audits related to employee documentation and immigration records.
5. Employee Support & Integration
· Assist international employees in adapting to new work environments and local cultures.
· Provide information on health insurance, social security, and legal rights.
· Act as a point of contact for expatriates regarding work-related immigration matters.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, International Relations, or a related field.
· 5+ years of experience in HR, workforce management, or immigration processing.
· Fluency in English and Portuguese (Turkish is a plus).
· Strong understanding of HR policies, labor laws, and employment regulations.
· Expertise in immigration procedures, visa processing, and work permit regulations.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and HR management software.
· Prior experience in construction, engineering, or international project-based companies is preferred.
· Knowledge of payroll systems and workforce compliance audits is an advantage.
· Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with employees, government agencies, and management.
· Attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive employee information confidentially.
· Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
