One of the companies with which we collaborate in Joppy, a Expert research optimization platform company, is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join their team (Hybrid working model in Barcelona).
About the role
To perform this role, you may be experienced with REST APIs, relational databases, software architecture knowledge, and critical thinking skills.
Our tech stack is built on .NET, React, and Python for Machine Learning, and our teams are structured around a product-focused model, with engineers in frontend, backend, and QA, each supported by a dedicated Product Owner and a Design team.
Key responsibilities you will be in charge of
- Build and maintain backend services to support platform infrastructure, focusing on scalability, performance, and reliability while enabling other teams to develop and deploy features effectively.
- Establish and enhance logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions in collaboration with the DevOps engineer to ensure the platform remains robust and resilient.
- Work closely with other engineering teams (Backend, Frontend, QA, Data Science) to support platform needs, enable seamless integration, and drive technical improvements.
Requirements to succeed in this role
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of professional backend development experience.
- Strong proficiency in .NET Core and C#, with knowledge of RESTful API design.
- Experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with observability tools and software architecture.
- Proven ability to optimize backend performance and troubleshoot complex systems.
- Effective collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and proactive approach to technical challenges.
- Experience with cloud services like AWS or Azure.
