The Role

As the Gridbank Staff Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the dev team while staying hands-on with development. You will oversee and manage our tech stack, drive architecture decisions, and ensure scalable, efficient, and maintainable systems. You will work closely with leadership to shape our engineering strategy while being deeply involved in coding, problem-solving, and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development, architecture, and scaling of our mobile and web applications
• Defining the technical roadmap based on business and engineering needs.
• Take ownership in a startup environment, balancing leadership with hands-on problem-solving and execution.
• Leadership and mentorship of the engineering team.
• Optimize, build, and deploy pipelines for speed, reliability, and scalability.
• Lead multi-phase projects from concept to delivery.
• Identify and mitigate production issues and improve reliability
• Work with senior leadership to identify and deliver engineering KPIs

Qualifications 

• Proven experience as a Staff Engineer or Principal Engineer role in a SaaS company.
• 4+ years in a leadership role
• 10+ years in SaaS
• Familiarity with Python, Flutter, Typescript, Next.js, Dart, AWS, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, FastAPI, DynamoDB, and Vercel.
• Strong English skills
• Deep understanding of build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and system optimization.
• Someone who gets the job done- and looks for ways to make things work. You know when to say no, but you do it with reasoning and alternatives, not roadblocks.
