Financial & Business Controller in NETHERLANDS

As Financial & Business Controller at SurePay, you’ll be part of our Finance team and work closely with our Chief Financial Officer and have one direct report (our Finance Officer). You will be responsible for all day to day finance activities such as financial reporting, annual accounts, payments & cash management, fiscal reporting and budgeting & forecasting. Furthermore you’ll be a key part of the business teams to support them with reporting, KPI tracking, commercial finance and business case reviews . Finally, together with the CFO and the Management Team you will continuously work on process optimisation and long term financial planning.

What you’ll do at SurePay

We’re looking for a dependable, forward thinking and analytically strong colleague to help the business with all finance related matters. You ensure correct, timely and complete financial administration for all areas of SurePay. You understand all of the business processes and you oversee and also advise on the financial impact. Working closely with the CFO and the Management Team, you provide insight into the results from your analysis and give strategic advice and guidance.

  • Month end financial close & reporting
  • Annual budget & rolling forecast
  • Monthly management & investor reporting
  • Invoicing & payments
  • Statutory accounts & fiscal reporting
  • Manage subsidies & grants
  • Review business cases & investment proposals
  • Activities to track and advise the business on progress, opportunities, best practises, KPI's etc.

What you’ll need

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience in financial roles
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s level of education in a relevant discipline
  • Forward-thinking mindset
  • Commercial mindset
  • Ability to think strategically
  • You are hands on, analytically strong, detail oriented and accurate
  • Fluency in English (and Dutch preferred)
  • Ability to work in the dynamic and sometimes hectic start-up environment.
  • Experience in a Big Four audit firm preferred
