As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Overnight Sports Trader to join our dedicated trading team. This role is perfect for someone with a deep understanding of sports trading, an analytical mindset, and the flexibility to work overnight and day shifts across various sports events.
Role Summary:
In this role, you will be responsible for managing in-play and pre-match sports trading across multiple high-volume events. The ideal candidate has a strong command of trading models, quick decision-making skills, and an excellent understanding of market conditions to maximize accuracy, profitability, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
a. Manage the trading for various sports events, focusing on real-time decision-making and adjusting odds based on live play.
b. Concentrate on high-volume sports like football, basketball, and tennis, ensuring timely updates and accurate pricing adjustments.
c. Analyze and adjust trading models based on the underlying market trends to maintain competitive odds and profitability.
d. Update pricing variables throughout events, using market changes as a basis to maintain optimal outcomes.
Trading Model Management:
a. Accurately input and adjust pricing variables for in-play events, ensuring accurate pre-match setup and readiness.
b. Continuously adjust trading models to reflect real-time conditions and in-play developments.
c. Ensure accurate entry and monitoring of all in-play match data to maintain precision in odds and pricing.
d. Implement and adjust risk management strategies to maximize returns and protect the business’s interests across events.
Coordination and Issue Management:
a. Promptly report any model, pricing, or feed provider issues to the Trading Manager to ensure smooth trading operations.
b. Assist Front Line Support with complex queries during live events, ensuring clients have an optimal experience.
c. Ensure all trading activities comply with regulatory standards and company policies.
d. Maintain detailed and accurate records of trading activities, adjustments, and model changes to assist with auditing and compliance.
Required Experience and Skills:
a. Minimum of 1-2 years in sports trading or a similar role within an online betting or sportsbook environment.
b. Strong analytical skills, with an ability to make quick, precise decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable with trading software, data management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
c. In-depth understanding of sports (e.g., football, tennis, basketball) and betting markets, especially in high-traffic sports.
d. Willingness to work flexible hours, including overnight and day shifts, as well as weekends and holidays.
