About the Company:
Our client is a reputable and well-established organization specializing in the distribution of cutting-edge digital label printing equipment through an advanced eCommerce platform. With a legacy of over 10 years, they have built a strong reputation for innovation and excellence. They are now seeking a highly skilled and motivated WordPress and WooCommerce Backend Software Engineer to join their dynamic and collaborative remote team.
Job Details:
Location: Fully Remote
Compensation: PKR 200,000 – 250,000 per month
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Work Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. CST
Trial Period: A 2-week trial period will be conducted to evaluate the suitability and expertise for the role. Please note that the trial period will be compensated only if the candidate successfully demonstrates the required skills and continues with the position. Responsibilities:
Backend Development:
Design, develop, and maintain custom WordPress and WooCommerce sites, themes, and plugins with a strong focus on backend and server-side development.
Leverage advanced PHP expertise to implement robust server-side solutions.
Build and maintain applications using the Laravel framework.
Database Management:
Optimize and manage MySQL databases to ensure high performance and data integrity.
Develop and execute complex queries and database manipulations.
Code Deployment and Best Practices:
Implement best practices for managing production and testing environments.
Deploy code responsibly using tools like CodeShip or similar platforms.
Manage development projects and track progress using GitHub repositories.
Collaboration and Troubleshooting:
Work closely with the design team to ensure technical feasibility and optimize designs for speed and scalability.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to WordPress, WooCommerce, and server-side applications.
Provide technical guidance and support to team members and stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and best practices.
Conduct performance testing and implement changes to meet security, speed, and usability requirements.
Required Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 4+ years in WordPress and WooCommerce development, including themes, child themes, and plugins.
Advanced PHP skills with a deep understanding of server-side solutions.
Hands-on experience with the Laravel framework.
Strong proficiency in MySQL database management.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in GitHub for version control, collaboration, and managing local test environments.
Experience in troubleshooting, managing production sites, and deploying code using platforms like CodeShip.
Frontend experience is preferred but with a focus on backend/server-side development.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Kinsta web hosting.
Experience in WordPress optimization and SEO best practices.
Hands-on experience with custom REST APIs and web service integration.
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
Work Environment and Requirements:
Remote Work Setup: Must have a reliable computer and stable internet connection suitable for development tasks.
Working Hours: Standard business hours (Monday–Friday) in the Central Time Zone.
Physical Requirements: Ability to work at a computer for up to 8 hours per day.
