The Opportunity
We are seeking a Scientific Communications Director to lead our strategic outreach, content development, and scientific engagement efforts. This is a full-time, fully remote position offering a salary plus a modest benefits package. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communications & Outreach
- Develop and implement communication strategies to expand the global visibility and reach of Science Bridges and Sciencefeatured.com.
- Collaborate with scientists, research institutes, and educational organizations worldwide to publicize discoveries and events.
Content Creation & Editorial Oversight
- Oversee creation of compelling scientific content (articles, blog posts, multimedia) ensuring clarity, accuracy, and broad appeal.
- Coordinate editorial processes, maintain publishing schedules, and uphold editorial standards across all digital platforms.
Global Community Building
- Foster relationships with international researchers, organizing virtual events and panels to stimulate knowledge exchange.
- Engage with our audience on social media (LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.) to strengthen our global network.
Brand Management & Platform Optimization
- Guide the tone, messaging, and visual identity across Science Bridges and Sciencefeatured platforms.
- Work closely with web developers and designers to optimize user experience and highlight key research initiatives.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Lead cross-functional teams, coordinate with volunteers and partners, and manage communication timelines.
- Identify areas for growth, ensuring our mission remains responsive to the evolving needs of the scientific community.
Qualifications
- PhD in any scientific field (Postdoctoral experience is an asset).
- At least 3 scientific publications in SCI-indexed journals.
- Demonstrated experience in science communication, outreach, or editorial roles is an asset.
- Excellent writing and editorial skills with the ability to make complex research accessible.
- Proven track record in project leadership and team collaboration across diverse cultures.
- Comfortable working in a remote and dynamic environment.
