We are currently seeking a Frontend WordPress Developer with a proven track record of developing
bespoke themes using CSS/SCSS, HTML, PHP, JavaScript & JQuery and demonstrable experience
of using ACF and Twig for advanced customization and templating. The candidate will need to be
able to manage their own LAMP environment and follow standard development workflows using Git.
The successful candidate will need to be able to take layered PSDs and build responsive, fully W3C
compliant HTML.
This is a 100% remote position and is open to those living anywhere in South Africa that meet the
requirements below.
Responsibilities:
● Develop and maintain WordPress websites, implement frontend designs using CSS/SCSS,
HTML/PHP, JavaScript, and JQuery.
● Specialise in ACF (Advanced Custom Fields) and Twig for advanced customization and
templating.
● Manage your own LAMP environment and utilize Git to sync with team members' systems
and follow standard development workflows.
● Troubleshoot and resolve frontend issues and bugs efficiently, ensuring cross-browser
compatibility and accessibility standards.
● Collaborate with the marketing team to translate design mockups into fully functional
WordPress websites, ensuring accuracy and responsiveness across devices.
● Optimise website speed and performance using caching techniques, image optimization, and
code minification.
● Stay updated on the latest WordPress and frontend development trends and technologies.
Skills, Experience & Requirements:
● 5+ years of experience in frontend development with a focus on WordPress.
● Proficiency in WordPress theming, CSS/SCSS, HTML/PHP, JavaScript, and JQuery.
● Specialised skills in ACF (Advanced Custom Fields) and Twig for advanced customization
and templating.
● Experience managing LAMP environments and utilizing Git for version control.
● Familiarity with managing multisite WordPress installations with custom themes and plugins.
● Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve frontend issues and bugs efficiently.
● Experience with core web vitals metrics and techniques required to optimise the website for
speed.
● Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a remote team.
● Ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
