The Role MEQ is seeking a Senior Android Developer who can hit the ground running. This role is ideal for a candidate with at least 5 years of Android/Kotlin experience, who thrives in a startup environment and is eager to work on industry-first technology.


The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimising Android applications, with a strong focus on modular architecture, performance, and scalability. This role requires someone who can work independently, step in for the lead developer when needed, and communicate effectively in a remote setting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality Android applications using Kotlin and MVVM architecture.
  • Work with the Android Camera API for real-time image capture and processing.
  • Ensure optimal threading and performance efficiency.
  • Structure projects with a modular architecture and clean, maintainable code.
  • Collaborate with Machine Learning, Field, and Insights teams.
  • Integrate APIs and manage databases effectively.
  • Write and maintain unit tests to ensure reliability and stability.
  • Work autonomously, take ownership, and contribute to strategic decisions.


What MEQ Probe is Looking ForMust-Have:

  • 5+ years of Android/Kotlin experience.
  • Proven ability to work independently and adapt to fast-changing environments.
  • Strong background in MVVM architecture, APIs, and testing.
  • Experience working in a startup or fast-paced product company.
  • Excellent remote communication skills (Slack, Email, etc.).


Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with Android Camera API.
  • Background in Python or databases, or willingness to learn it.
  • Exposure to Machine Learning concepts.
