Developing and communicating a technical vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Data Catalog, ensuring alignment with the organization's data management objectives
Leading the technical development, configuration, optimization, and the integration with different data sources and embedding data governance policies and workflows
Setting up and maintaining connectors and integrations to ensure seamless ingestion of data from various sources into the Data Catalog
Validating that the data ingested from source systems is accurate, complete, and reflects its original structure.
Supporting key governance roles (e.g., Data Stewards, Data Owners) by assisting with the ingestion and organization of business metadata
Mapping and establish relationships between business and technical metadata, ensuring a clear hierarchy and alignment.
Creating and managing custom views of assets, including business and technical lineage diagrams, to enhance usability and transparency
Designing and implementing workflows to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
Onboarding and training individuals in key governance roles, ensuring they can effectively use the Data Catalog to fulfill their responsibilities
Implementing and enforcing data governance practices, data security measures, and data quality assurance within the Data Catalog
Working closely with technical teams to implement features and improvements, ensuring scalability and integration with the organization’s technology stack
In order to succeed, you’ll need
Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or comparable work experience
Proven experience working as a Data Catalog Owner or related role
Comprehensive knowledge of Data Governance principles, best practices, and compliance standards is mandatory
In-depth experience with data technologies, including databases, ETL processes, data lakes, data pipelines and leading data cataloging tools (e.g., Collibra) or related Data Governance tools
Strong understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and data integration
Working experience in implementing and managing Data Lineage (tracking the flow of data across systems) and Data Profiling (analyzing data quality, structure, and content) to ensure data transparency and quality
Ability to collaborate with the Product Owner and work closely with data engineers, architects, data scientists, and business stakeholders to gather and prioritize technical requirements.
Strong communication and analytical skills
Great English skills, both written and spoken
