Senior Business Analyst in AUSTRALIA

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Business Analyst to join our remote team, focusing on the utilities sector. In this role, you will work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, document processes, and translate business needs into actionable insights for the technical team, especially the Data Architect. This role is integral to our Data Quality, Data Cataloging, and Data Governance projects, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the technical team, ensuring clear communication and understanding of business needs.
• Gather and document business requirements related to Data Quality, Data Governance, and Data Cataloging projects.
• Collaborate with business units to ensure their data management needs are met, keeping them informed of project progress and key developments.
• Work with the Data Architect to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Proactively identify opportunities for improving data governance processes and drive solutions that enhance business outcomes.
• Maintain detailed documentation of business requirements, user stories, and process workflows.
• Foster a culture of collaboration by regularly interacting with business stakeholders to ensure their goals are aligned with data initiatives.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring that both business and technical teams are aligned on deliverables and timelines.
• Actively track and report progress on key project deliverables, highlighting potential risks or blockers.
• Support the development and enforcement of data governance policies and best practices to ensure compliance across the business.
• Maintain an energetic and solutions-oriented approach to ensure successful delivery of data-related projects.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst in the utilities sector or similar industries.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both business and technical teams.
• Proactive, energetic, and results-driven mindset, with a passion for delivering high-quality business solutions.
• Experience working with Data Governance, Data Quality, or Data Cataloging projects is highly desirable.
• Ability to document and communicate business requirements, processes, and data flows clearly and concisely.
• Experience using tools like JIRA, Confluence, or similar project management and collaboration tools.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and remotely while maintaining a high level of engagement with team members and stakeholders.
• Basic understanding of SQL is a plus but not mandatory.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, ideally in data-related or governance projects.
• Experience in the utilities sector is a plus but not required.
