Engineering Team Lead in HUNGARY

ACPS Automotive Kft. in Kecskemét is one of Hungary's most dynamic and stable automotive manufacturers and suppliers, producing tow bars and equipment for renowned car manufacturers such as VW, Tesla, Volvo, BMW, and Toyota. Our company, employing nearly 1100 people, is looking for a new colleague for the position of Testing and Prototyping Team Leader:


Main tasks:


  • Lead and mentor a team of technicians and engineers involved in prototype fabrication and testing
  • Delegate and allocate tasks, according to capacity and competence
  • Monitor and control progress, coach / coordinate as needed, and support in technical and other situations (escalate in critical situations)
  • Drive the steps to build prototypes, and validate the products of ACPS
  • Manage inventory of materials and consumables required for standard operation of prototyping and testing
  • Ensure that the legal obligations are fulfilled, with timely and complete documentation according to the PCP (Product Creation Process) and applicable standards / regulations (ECE, SAE, AIAG, ISO, IAT)
  • Open communication to internal (project stake holders) and external customers
  • With the local R&D Manager, and the local Financial Controller take part in the budgeting
  • On a monthly basis provide input for forecasts
  • Improvement activities regarding team set-up, processes, products, and the efficiency of the project work; drive up the profitability / drive costs down
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols, best practices
  • International networking and cooperation are a key part of this role due to the international testing setup (Mexico, USA, China), and best practice sharing is key for the further evolution


Requirements:


  • Technical Engineering Degree (Bachelor or Master) in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, Testing and Validation, Process Engineering, Materials, or equal
  • Min. 5 years of work experience as an Engineer in the automotive sector, preferably as in the segment of Testing and Validation / Engineering Services (or Product Engineering) inside a matrix-organization
  • Ideally min. 3 years of experience in a similar management / team leader position
  • Very good skills in the typical Microsoft programs, especially Excel and graphic tools
  • Very good communication skills, and social competence towards internal and external business partners (customers, suppliers), being motivating and able to establish contacts and lead discussions
  • Personality with a high degree in problem solving techniques, and capability to take responsibility and ownership
  • Experience in LEAN methodology or minimum in Continuous Improvement techniques
  • Ideally experience and a track record to drive improvements – reflected in improved KPIs
  • Good competence to coordinate, being consequent, organization skills and assertiveness
  • Ability to react quickly to changing requirements and conditions (like timing, budgets, targets), and adopt the related work-content accordingly
  • Fluent in English and Hungarian
  • Willingness to travel (not that often required)


Advantages:


  • Good competences with materials (steel, aluminum, plastics), and related processes (forging, welding, metal forming, coating, assembly)
  • Ideally good competence in fatigue or tolerance assessment, drawings, special characteristics
  • Good knowledge regarding technical project management, as well as the automotive requirements based on AIAG, VDA, ISO-TS 16949, TS 14001
  • Ideally knowledge regarding certification / homologation of products
  • Experience with PCP (Product Creation Process) and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems
