.NET Core Developer in CANADA

Job Title: .NET Core Developer

Location: Halifax, NS (Permanent remote work accepted from anywhere in Canada, though preference will be given to EST and CST-based resources)

Overview:

Humana is looking for a highly skilled Senior .NET Developer to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with the internal development team to augment and support ongoing C# applications. Your primary focus will be on stability projects to improve the performance and reliability of existing applications, enabling the internal team to focus on integration projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in .NET, C# development, secure coding practices, and familiarity with the Azure cloud ecosystem.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Augment Internal Team:
• Support the internal development team by picking up backlog user stories and bug fixes during sprints.
• Conduct thorough testing and validation of completed code.
• Review code collaboratively as part of the pull request release process and secure manager approval prior to release.
• Work on Stability Projects:
• Assist in upgrading .NET applications from version 6 to version 8.
• Ensure compatibility of the existing codebase during the upgrade process.
• Update and manage dependencies, including NuGet packages, for both .NET Framework and .NET Core.
• Contribute to projects aimed at increasing security and reducing help desk support.

Deliverables:

• Updated, patched, and secured C# codebase.
• Comprehensive test reports confirming the functionality and security of completed user stories.
• Support the internal software engineering team during the production release of applications.

Required Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a .NET Web Developer.
• Proficiency in C# as the primary programming language.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Extensive experience working with .NET and .NET Framework.
• Expertise in upgrading NuGet packages for .NET.
• Experience with Azure Functions and Web Apps, including converting Azure functions from in-process to isolated worker models.
• Strong experience in remediating secure coding practices and authentication models for web applications.
