Lead Technical Specialist – Propulsion & Electrical Systems

We are looking for a skilled Lead Technical Specialist in Propulsion and Electrical Systems to enhance our team and spearhead developments in propulsion and electrical systems for naval projects. In this role, you will lead and coordinate a focused team of specialists in research, design, proposals, and projects. Utilizing your deep knowledge in maritime propulsion, electrical systems, and energy dynamics, you will forge innovative solutions for intricate naval projects.

From conducting initial trade-off studies to overseeing system validation during testing, your work will be crucial in ensuring the performance and reliability of essential ship systems.


About the job

As Lead Technical Specialist - Propulsion and Electrical Systems, your key responsibilities will include:

Guide and prioritize project activities for the specialist team throughout all project phases.

Provide technical expertise and creative solutions for multidisciplinary projects, meeting quality, schedule, and budget requirements.

Support verification and validation tests during production and warranty phases.

Initiate and support the development of innovative solutions to meet future project requirements.

Advise on project activity lists and manhour budgets.

Develop and review technical deliverables such as functional descriptions, simulations, and test protocols.

Contribute to process improvement and knowledge transfer within the department.


Qualifications

To succeed as Lead Technical Specialist - Propulsion and Electrical Systems, you should have:


  • Master degree in a technical field with at least ten years of relevant experience.
  • Theoretical knowledge of maritime propulsion, electrical systems, and energy dynamics.
  • Extensive experience in power generation, energy storage, and auxiliary energy systems for naval projects.
  • Strong collaboration skills with research institutes, universities, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Proficiency in dynamic simulations using tools like Matlab Simulink.
  • Experience in academic research and validation methods.
  • Key competencies including customer orientation, results orientation, teamwork, leadership, and creativity.
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language both written and verbal.
