Duties
- You will plan, organize, and direct activities of Technical Support Division of the Information resources Management Department (ITACS), ensuring that information technology complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
- You will provide subordinates with direction and guidance regarding policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- You will direct, coordinate, and oversee work through subordinates.
- You will explain performance expectations to subordinates and provide regular feedback on strengths and weaknesses.
- You will ensure documentation prepared to support actions is proper and complete.
- You will establish, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with, and Echelon II offices and officials.
- You will participate in special projects initiatives and perform special assignments.
- You will research and determine or recommend appropriate actions or interpretation of issues that impact the Organization, Installation, Command, or Agency.
- You will oversee implementation of new system hardware and software and develop new operating procedures.
- You will provide high-level technical expertise to accomplish analysis of options and development of the design for advanced systems networks and/or telecommunications software and complex programming specifications.
- You will prepare and recommend budget information to the IT Department Head, to include all computer services costs and obligations.
- You will provide productivity improvement solutions for the division that supports the infusion of technology into the business processes and allows automation of manual processes.

- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- Must obtain the foundational qualification within nine months and the residential qualification within 12 months of appointment and maintain those credentials as described in DoDM 8140.03 for DCWF work role(s) and proficiency level(s) as documented.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating competencies Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience in applying network management methods; network enterprise architecture; bandwidth management concepts; workflow concepts; IT security methods; command-level business mission requirements; and project management principles sufficient to manage a large and complex network.
Experience applying systems engineering concepts and methods; software design theories and concepts, data modeling mythology's structure design and maintainability principals sufficient to ensure that application are optimized for state-of-the-art technology and functionality and be able to diagnose and resolve the most complex data management problems and issues.
Experience with written and oral communication is a must have for this position to prepare and present findings and recommendations to a wide variety of audiences, carry out specific actions regarding controversial issues, and effectively present or implement new ideas and concepts.
Experience and knowledge of program management theories, principles, and practices combined with a thorough understanding of the analytical, evaluative, and administrative methods and techniques required for management information systems.
Experience with outages and knowledge of functional processes and technical alternatives sufficient to ensure interoperability, integration, and interface requirements are met and conflicts are resolved.

Priority consideration will be given to military spouse preference and family member preference eligible residing in the commute area of the duty location for this position. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.
Military Spouses and Family Members may apply 30 days before their anticipated arrival date. However, they will not receive preference until arrival at the foreign location. Additional documentation may be required prior to granting preference.
Military spouses and family members who are appointed may not extend longer than 2 months following the transfer of the sponsor from the commuting area of the foreign duty station; 2 months beyond the separation of the appointee's sponsor; or any time beyond the time employee ceases to be a family member.
