Head of Cloud Operations


Our cloud solutions are enablers of the digital transformation for business and our normal life. One of the enabling technologies for the digital transformation is cloud computing, this will enable a completely other way of working for the business. To support this, NXP-IT formed a Cloud Center of Excellence (Cloud CoE) reporting directly into the CIO.


The Cloud CoE’s goal is to enable accelerated and sustainable adoption of cloud across the enterprise (both business and IT) - maximizing the ability to realize its benefits while reducing risk. This team is recognized as the industry leading Cloud Center of Excellence for the high-tech industry. The Cloud CoE is responsible for defining Strategy and policy for cloud computing, driving, and implementing cloud services and platforms, running proof of concepts, piloting emerging cloud technologies (e.g. GenAI, Machine Learning) and supporting business-initiatives in adapting cloud technologies (including the organizational change).


With the continuous emerging variety in applications & system, that have a need for highly secured , flexible , scalable , and resilient digital infrastructure, supporting on AI ready foundation the need for self-reliant Cloud platforms is growing as also the enablement and support role. In order to support this need effectively and efficiently the Cloud CoE has to transform its services , value proposition including strengthen the team to be future ready. To support this journey we are looking for our Head Cloud Operations.


In the role as Head CLoud Operations you are challenged to build and establish a mature cloud community in NXP, to run and mature the Cloud Intake office by onboarding Cloud workloads, and ensuring and maturing high-quality processes for the Cloud services in scope. In this role you will also be the wingman ( wingmate) for the Head of Cloud Center or Excellence.


The responsibilities include:


  • Assist Head Cloud CoE in decision-making, program management, initiative implementations and communication
  • Review, design, and execute improvements to processes, organizational structure and procedures to optimize for efficiency and effectiveness
  • Measure team performance by defining performance indicators for the Cloud team, and delivering those metrics
  • Report-out to the business stakeholders on the delivery and performance of the Cloud CoE and Cloud services providers
  • Communicate with stakeholders, eliminate/escalate impediments, help manage risk, and driving relentless improvement.
  • Cloud Consumer engagements :
  • Handling new incoming demand, and developing action plans for follow-up
  • Establish and run an active NXP Cloud community
  • Responsible to upskill the Cloud skills and associated way of working for the NXP community ( by training , hands-on labs , events )
  • Cloud Communication and channels:
  • You are responsible for establishing and ensuring rich and high-quality information channel(s) between Cloud CoE and its stakeholders by providing state-of-art and relevant information
  • Set up and maintain the communication framework & channels for Cloud CoE
  • Lead a small team ,
  • Stay up to speed with the newest Cloud technologies
  • Pro-actively collaborate with other IT teams and business teams
  • Actively participate in communities/forums/guilds on Cloud computing
  • Be evangelist of Cloud computing and its way of working to the rest of NXP


Your Profile


  • Master Degree with 10 years of relevant experience
  • Track record balancing Co-leadership and Servant Leadership
  • Track record in agile Service management in fast evolving Digital Infrastructure landscape
  • Experience in coaching teams in changing ways of working
  • You work well under pressure and manage stressful situations with ease
  • Organized, efficient, and result-driven
  • You creative, analytical, open-minded and transparent on own work
  • Eager to learn and not afraid to take initiative. You know how to learn from failure
  • You have great English communication skills, both verbally as in writing
  • You should be familiar with software engineering techniques, and cloud-native architecture
  • You have a technical background and affinity with R&D

Contract: This is a full-time position with a permanent contract. However, we are open to discuss a part-time opportunity (between 32 and 38 hours) as well.
