About The Role
We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Developers to join our network and work on challenging projects with our client companies. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of server-side development, a strong command of multiple backend frameworks and languages, and a passion for building scalable, reliable, and high-performance applications. You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining the server-side logic, APIs, and databases that power our clients' applications. You should be a problem-solver, a team player, and a strong advocate for clean, efficient, and well-documented code. This is a remote position, requiring availability during US time zones.
Responsibilities
- Design and Development:
- Design, develop, and implement robust and scalable backend systems using various programming languages and frameworks.
- Write clean, well-documented, testable, and efficient code adhering to industry best practices.
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs (and/or GraphQL) for seamless data exchange between front-end and back-end systems.
- Design and implement data storage solutions using relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Testing and Quality Assurance:
- Write unit, integration, and API tests to ensure code quality, application stability, and data integrity.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Debug and resolve complex technical issues.
- Database Management:
- Design, develop, and maintain database schemas.
- Optimize database performance for scalability and efficiency.
- Ensure data security and integrity.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate effectively with other developers, front-end engineers, product managers, and stakeholders in a remote environment.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Actively participate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives).
- Deployment and Maintenance:
- Deploy and maintain applications on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar).
- Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of professional experience as a Backend Developer.
- Proven track record of building and deploying complex, scalable, and high-performance backend systems.
- Technical Skills:
- Expert-level proficiency in at least two of the following programming languages:
- Python (with frameworks like Django, Flask)
- Java (with frameworks like Spring Boot)
- Node.js (with frameworks like Express.js)
- Ruby (with Ruby on Rails)
- Go
- Extensive experience with RESTful API design and development (GraphQL experience is a plus).
- Strong understanding of database design and development (relational databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, and/or NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Experience with Git for version control.
- Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, PyTest, RSpec, Mocha).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar).
- Understanding of security best practices for backend systems.
- Bonus Points:
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Contributions to open-source projects.
- Experience with message queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka).
