We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join their Berlin-based team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of designing and deploying AI-driven solutions that tackle key urban challenges. Key Responsibilities
- Urban Data Analysis: Analyze large datasets from sensors, traffic cameras, IoT devices, and city infrastructure to uncover insights that drive smarter decision-making for urban planners.
- AI Model Development: Design and develop machine learning models to optimize city operations in areas such as traffic flow, energy consumption, waste management, and public safety.
- Collaboration: Work alongside engineers, urban planners, and government stakeholders to integrate AI-driven solutions into smart city infrastructure.
- Real-Time Data Processing: Build and maintain scalable data pipelines to process real-time data from various city sensors, enabling instant decision-making and optimization.

What We’re Looking For
Education
- Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- At least 4 years of experience in data science or AI, with a strong focus on smart cities or urban data analysis.
Technical Skills
- Programming: Proficiency in Python, R, or other programming languages commonly used for data science and machine learning.
- Machine Learning: Advanced knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning, reinforcement learning, and optimization.
- Urban Data: Experience working with large-scale, real-time datasets from urban infrastructure such as traffic systems, public transport, or IoT sensors.
- Data Engineering: Familiarity with tools like Hadoop, Spark, and other big data frameworks for building and managing data pipelines.
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud services like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for scalable solutions.
- Data Visualization: Proficiency with visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or custom Python-based solutions (e.g., Matplotlib, Plotly).

- Experience with smart city technologies, such as IoT, connected devices, or urban mobility.
- Knowledge of urban planning or city governance processes.
