We are seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Data Scientist to join their Amsterdam-based team. In this role, you’ll work on building and optimizing machine learning models that help solve some of the world’s most pressing environmental problems. Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis: Analyze vast datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that contribute to sustainable solutions.
- Model Development: Build and implement machine learning models to predict environmental impacts and optimize sustainability initiatives.
- Collaboration: Work alongside engineers, data scientists, and environmental experts to integrate AI models into large-scale applications.
- Data Processing: Help build and maintain scalable data pipelines for large datasets, focusing on real-time processing and analysis.
- Reporting & Visualization: Create compelling data visualizations and reports to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- A Bachelors as well as a Masters is preferred, but not a deal breaker.
Experience
- 1 year internship, or commercial experience is a plus!
Technical Skills
- Programming: Proficient in Python and popular data science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn).
- SQL: Strong experience in SQL for querying and managing datasets.
- Machine Learning: Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques (e.g., regression, classification, clustering).
- Data Visualization: Familiarity with visualization tools like matplotlib, Seaborn, or Plotly.
- Cloud Tools: Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud is a plus.
Bonus Points
- Experience with environmental data or sustainability-focused projects.
- Knowledge of real-time data processing or working with optimization models.
- Familiarity with AI-driven applications or experience in deployment.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- English speaking or Dutch
