Business Analyst - contract position though October 2025

Fully Remote - must be available for meetings when required

Must reside in one of the following states:

Arizona

Connecticut

Florida

North Carolina

Texas

Washington


The Functional Business Analyst will play a critical role in the development, implementation, and optimization of new payroll system (UKG Pro Pay). This position requires a deep understanding of payroll processes, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams.


Responsibilities


  • Requirements Gathering: Work closely with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements for payroll system enhancements and new features.
  • Process Analysis: Analyze current payroll processes and identify areas for improvement to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Solution Design: Develop functional specifications and design solutions that meet business needs and align with industry best practices.
  • Technical Analysis/documentation: Ability to analyze and capture technical specifications
  • Project Management: Lead and manage payroll system projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
  • Testing and Validation: Coordinate and conduct testing of payroll system changes to ensure they meet business requirements and function as intended.
  • User Training: Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for end-users to ensure they are proficient in using the payroll tool.
  • Support: Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for payroll system issues, working closely with IT and other departments to resolve problems.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system changes, processes, and procedures


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong written, verbal and collaboration skills
  • Experience with UKG Pro Pay payroll system implementation lifecycle phases (planning, deployment, post-go-live support).
  • Experience with Workday a plus
  • Certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMP (Project Management Professional) highly preferred
