Embedded Software Engineer for On-Board Computer (OBC) Development for Cubesats

We are looking for an Embedded Software Engineer passionate about space technology to complement the development of the Andes On-Board Computer (OBC), a mini on-board computer crucial for CubeSat satellite missions.

Main Responsibilities:

• Requirements Definition: Define software requirements compatible with the OBC hardware and the needs of potential customers.
• Embedded Software Development: Design, implement and test the OBC embedded software, ensuring its optimal operation in the space environment.
• Systems Integration: Work closely with the hardware and systems teams to integrate the embedded software with the satellite components.
• AI Implementation: Integrate artificial intelligence algorithms to optimize satellite performance and perform autonomous tasks.
• Testing and Validation: Conduct extensive testing of the embedded software in simulated and real environments to ensure its reliability and robustness.

Technologies Used:

• C programming languages
• Real-time operating systems (RTOS)
• Space communication protocols (e.g. CCSDS)
• Embedded software development tools
• Artificial intelligence frameworks

Candidate Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering: Degree in computer science, electronics, telecommunications or similar.
• Embedded Software Experience: Proven experience in embedded software development for critical systems, ideally in the space domain.
• Electronics Knowledge: Solid understanding of the principles of electronics and digital systems.
• Communication Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate technical ideas clearly.
• Technical English: Fluent level in Spanish, Intermediate-upper level of English to read technical documentation and communicate with international colleagues.

Desirable:

• Space Sector Experience: Knowledge of space standards and protocols.
• AI Experience: Familiarity with artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques.
• Contributions to Open Source Projects: Participation in open source embedded software projects.
