Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack / AI)

About Us

Our client is a startup revolutionizing how government contractors respond to federal RFPs through AI automation. Our platform reduces proposal response time from weeks to hours by leveraging AI to generate complete first drafts from existing content and templates. We're building the next generation of tools for government contractors, aiming to be the central platform for proposal identification, response, and management.

The Role

We're seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to drive full-stack development initiatives. Reporting to the CTO, you'll work closely with our design team to implement UI changes, enhance our dashboard, and optimize backend functionality, including AI/LLM integrations.

Compensation

• Base Salary: $120,000 - $200,000
• Equity: 0.50% - 2.00%
• Location: New York City (Union Square area)
• Relocation assistance available
• Full-time W-2 position

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience
• Proficiency in FastAPI, Python, React, TypeScript, and Next.js
• Strong full-stack development skills with emphasis on backend development
• Experience building AI applications and working with LLMs
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with technical/non-technical stakeholders
• Self-driven with strong problem-solving abilities

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end full-stack development, focusing on both backend and dashboard improvements
• Implement UI/UX changes using React, TypeScript, and Next.js
• Build and optimize core backend functionality with FastAPI, Python, and Celery
• Integrate AI/LLM capabilities to enhance proposal processes
• Design scalable solutions for optimal customer experience
• Work with Kubernetes for deployment and infrastructure management

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS GovCloud or Azure GovCloud
• Background in data-heavy workflows and document processing
• DevOps experience
• Previous founder or founding engineer experience
• Familiarity with secure handling of customer data
