We are seeking a talented Django Developer willing to relocate to or currently located in Brussels, Belgium.


The role involves designing, building, and testing interactive tools for annotating data and validating machine learning model results. The ideal candidate will have strong Python and Django expertise and a collaborative mindset, working within an Agile environment to deliver high-value solutions.


Key Responsibilities:


Application Development:

  • Design and implement robust web applications using Django, focusing on the Django templating system and integration with htmx.
  • Utilize background job queues and connect to external APIs to create efficient and scalable solutions.
  • Develop tools to annotate data and validate machine learning model outputs.


Agile Team Collaboration:

  • Work as part of an Agile team, applying skills in analysis, design, development, testing, and integration to achieve sprint goals.
  • Commit to delivering high-value solutions by addressing team backlogs and aligning priorities with stakeholders and the Product Owner.
  • Foster knowledge sharing, open communication, and continuous learning within the team.


Stakeholder Interaction:

  • Translate stakeholder requirements into actionable development tasks.
  • Ensure solutions integrate seamlessly with the organization's IT fabric.


Quality Assurance:

  • Adhere to best practices in software engineering and version control using Git.
  • Implement and maintain testing frameworks to ensure software reliability and robustness.


Qualifications and Skills:


Mandatory:

  • Strong experience in Django development.
  • Proficiency in Python and software engineering principles.
  • Hands-on experience with Git for version control.
  • Fluent in at least one local language with passive knowledge of the other.


Preferred, but not a must:

  • Familiarity with MLOps or DevOps practices.
  • Experience with testing frameworks like Gherkin or Behave.
  • Polyglot programming skills with knowledge of additional languages.
