Essensium is an expanding product development company that designs, produces, sells and provides service for Essensium real time Positioning System for forklifts (EPS), based on computer vision & AI technology (SafeTrack TM). We are looking for a Portal developer (Python, Web APIs, JavaScript, CSS) to join our R&D team.
It's a combination of web applications developing with backend data storing, monitoring and encrypting.
This function offers a broad and interesting view on our state-of-the-art products and will allow you to grow in responsibilities over the coming years.
- Location: Leuven, hybrid mode (2d/week in the office, 3d from home). We are looking for someone who lives in Belgium or is willing to move to Belgium. Fully remote is not an option.
- Contract: full time permanent, long term collaboration (4 years+ and more)
- Start date: as soon as we find a right person
- Main tech stack: Python, asyncio, CSS, Javascript, Linux (3-4 years of experience)
- Education: Master degree in computer science or similar is a must

What you will do:
- Extend and maintain our portal (Web application)
- Create tools to automate, monitor and control remotely our installations at clients’ sites (the number of devices is increasing as we are at scale-up phase)
- Backend: dynamic web server, data flows and storage
- Frontend: JavaScript, HTML, CSS, virtual DOM
- Improve the user experience
- Data engineering (make sure that data is encrypted and transferred from the site to our DB in our portal. We don't use SQL, we designed our own DB instead)
- Interoperate with other platforms
- Create a web-based automation platform for our EPS system with modern technologies
- Interaction with customers
Working environment
- You’ll be working in Leuven in a small international team of highly skilled developers where you’ll develop and take ownership of part of a complex architecture for a computer vision product.
