About the Role

In this position, you will design algorithms to predict shipping patterns, minimize fuel consumption, and enhance cargo management, playing a critical role in reshaping the future of global trade.
Key Responsibilities
- Build machine learning models to optimize vessel routing, minimize downtime, and improve fuel efficiency.
- Analyze data from IoT-enabled vessels, port systems, and satellite feeds to improve operational workflows.
- Develop predictive analytics tools for cargo demand forecasting and fleet management.
- Collaborate with engineers, maritime experts, and logistics professionals to deploy AI solutions.
- Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations like IMO data requirements.
- Lead the design of cutting-edge tools for real-time data visualization and operational monitoring.
What They’re Looking For
- Experience: 5+ years in data science, preferably within logistics, maritime, or supply chain industries.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, and R; experience with geospatial data tools (e.g., QGIS, GeoPandas); and expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Maritime/Logistics Knowledge: Familiarity with vessel tracking systems (AIS), shipping logistics, and fuel efficiency optimization is a significant advantage.
- Data Expertise: Skills in time-series analysis, anomaly detection, and optimization algorithms.
- Education: Degree in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (master’s or PhD highly desirable).
- Soft Skills: A problem-solving mindset, the ability to communicate complex insights, and a passion for sustainable innovation.
