Team And Job Overview
The Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer was established in 2023 with the mission of empowering our customers and colleagues to take on the world, by seamlessly delivering secure and reliable digital experiences. Digital & Technology Solutions has set out to achieve the following objectives for EDC:
- Define, execute, and sustain the integrated technology target state, target data model and technology operations required to enable EDC’s 2030 business transformation.
- Establish and manage the rolling 3 Year Digital Roadmap that sequences the technology outcomes required to achieve the technology target state and facilitates its execution across all domains in the organization.
- Keep pace with industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring EDC has access to the digital technology tools it needs to stay relevant in the market and grow Canadian global trade.
- Lead and ensure integrated digital, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity implementations to create excellent customer, user, and employee experiences.
EDC’s Workplace Solutions team enhances organizational communication, collaboration, and business operations. The Technical Lead is responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and implementing both short and long-term solutions through software and infrastructure. This role involves project delivery, software maintenance, vendor collaboration, and ensuring that solutions meet IT standards and business requirements.
Working alongside the Workplace Solutions Architect, the Technical Lead helps ensure that solutions meet or exceed specified standards and end-user requirements.
This person must be able to perform all aspects of desktop technology delivery. This includes collaborating with vendors, consulting with partners to ensure articulation of business requirements, translating requirements into viable solutions, solution testing and eventual deployment into necessary environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Plans, coordinates and oversees activities related to the design, development and integration of information system, and operations
- Reviews and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
- Reviews systems models, specifications, diagrams and charts to provide direction to delivery teams and manages third party vendor (managed services) relationships.
- Develops standards and processes for deployment, testing, and governance.
- Leads the provision of expertise for the complex elevated technical support issues including solution lifecycle management.
- Ensure system security, performance and availability.
- Management in administering and configuring mobile devices for End users via Office365, Intune, Hybrid (SCCM integration with Intune), and Azure Active Directory environment.
- Escalate to management as necessary, acting internally as a customer advocate and keeping end-users informed.
- Oversees the health, performance, stabilization, tuning and ongoing planning of the Endpoint infrastructure (HW & SW)
- Implement tasks/projects critical to the organizations Endpoint technologies (workstations and laptops etc.)
- Conducts assessments and reports vulnerabilities; monitors their ongoing management with the operations teams
Screening Criteria - Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or other related field
- Minimum of 7 years' experience working as a subject matter expert on the following:
- Endpoint Management
- Microsoft 365 (Office Apps, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, Teams)
- Windows Desktop Operating Systems
- Mobile Device Management (MDM)
- Microsoft Power Platform
- Telephony
- Mac OS
- Azure Active Directory
- Microsoft Copilot for M365
- Communication skills with the ability to create and maintain technical processes and procedures
- Strong analytical and problem resolution skills, including technical problem solving
- Exhibits leadership skills
- Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations
- Interprets internal/external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services

Compensation Details
- Tech Lead 18: Salaries typically range from $94,664 to $126,219 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.
Location
- Export Development Canada is a hybrid work environment.
- This role will be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa.
