About The Role
Our Automation Engineer supports our Underground Mining Operations by providing automation technical support to our mine site covering key surface and underground infrastructure including but not limited to conveyors, various panel equipment and ventilation fans.
This role will be worked as a 9 day fortnight and will be based on site in Narrabri, NSW. Relocation assistance will be offered to the successful candidate if not already residing in the Gunnedah Basin.
What You’ll Do
- Design, install, maintain and configure site automation systems for both surface and underground operations
- Provide on-site technical and break down support and expertise to minimise or eliminate downtime
- Lead and participate in projects to upgrade existing site automation systems and new equipment and infrastructure including control system design, development, testing and commissioning
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
What You’ll Bring
- Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, or another relevant field
- Expertise in PLCs (Allen-Bradley) and SCADA (PlantScada / Citect) systems
- Experience in OT networking, including the integration and maintenance of network infrastructure for automation and control systems
- Experience with PC based programming languages, databases and reporting eg (Python, Java, C++, SQL and SSRS) would be highly valued
- Strong problem-solving skills for technical issues within mining and other heavy industry
