K'awat'si Economic Development is looking for a Business Development and Marketing Manager to join our team in Port Hardy, British Columbia. This is not a remote position and requires relocation to Port Hardy.

Reporting to the CEO. The role involved Lead KEDC’s growth and market presence by combining business development and marketing efforts. This role is about spotting new opportunities, building meaningful client relationships, and delivering marketing campaigns that make an impact. The goal is to drive revenue, grow the client base, and establish KEDC as a trusted leader in its sectors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Business Development:

  • Develop and execute growth strategies to expand the organization’s client and customer base.
  • Build and nurture strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, stakeholders, suppliers, and customers.
  • Conduct market research to identify business opportunities, viable income streams, and industry trends on both local and international levels.
  • Lead the drafting of business proposals, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Assess and map business strengths and customer needs, creating tailored solutions.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of new business lines and strategic business plans.
  • Monitor performance metrics, analyze data, and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and profitability.
  • Ensure that quality, customer satisfaction, and financial targets are consistently met.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of projects and initiatives.

Marketing and Sales:

  • Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns across all social media platforms and the company website.
  • Create engaging content, including videos, blogs, and graphics, to elevate brand visibility and customer engagement.
  • Track and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns, producing actionable monthly reports.
  • Stay updated on emerging digital marketing trends, technologies, and tools, incorporating them into strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Establish collaborations with lifestyle and travel influencers to strengthen the company’s online presence.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize revenue through upselling and value-added enhancements.

  • Contribute to the development and presentation of marketing budgets, forecasts, and communication initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned by the direct manager.

Education: A master’s degree in business administration (MBA) or a related field is highly desirable.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing and business development, including at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, managing client relationships, and executing impactful marketing campaigns.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and leadership capabilities, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and marketing tools such as HubSpot, Google Analytics, or similar platforms.
  • Expertise in digital marketing trends, CRM platforms, and leveraging data-driven insights to optimize campaigns.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across teams, fostering strong partnerships with internal departments such as operations and communications to achieve organizational goals.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends and holidays

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
