What You'll Do
As a Staff Platform Engineer, your role will be pivotal in advancing our client's research and batch computing capabilities. You'll be working closely with various teams to architect, develop, and maintain scalable solutions both on Google Cloud and on-premise infrastructure. Your expertise in Python or Go programming languages will be crucial in delivering high-quality solutions. Additionally, your understanding of GitOps principles will be essential in managing workflows effectively. With your hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, you'll be able to navigate through AWS or GCP platforms seamlessly.
- Architect, develop and maintain scalable solutions on Google Cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of solutions.
- Take initiative in investigating infrastructure/application issues on a live production system independently.
- Apply proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Go.
- Utilise GitOps principles, specifically with tools like Argo-CD and GitLab CI.
- Handle workflows (argo workflows) and batch/HPC type workloads.
- Maintain a strong grasp of cloud infrastructure, with practical experience in either AWS or GCP.

As the ideal candidate for the Staff Platform Engineer position, you bring along a solid background in Platform/SRE engineering with at least 8 years of experience under your belt. Your proficiency in Kubernetes is evident through your ability to handle both architectural design and operational management tasks efficiently. You have a strong understanding of GitOps principles, particularly with tools like Argo-CD and GitLab CI. Your experience handling workflows (argo workflows) and batch/HPC type workloads is a valuable asset. You are comfortable working with either AWS or GCP cloud infrastructure and have the ability to investigate infrastructure/application issues on a live production system independently. Your proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Go, coupled with your excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, makes you a strong contender for this role.
