About our team| Mō te roopu

The People and Capability Team leads and delivers programmes of work, policies, and processes that support the EPA’s strategic objectives and underpin organisational capability, capacity, and culture. The function oversees and manages the EPA’s approach to recruitment, learning and development, employment relations, remuneration, performance management, and health and safety. 

About the role | Mō te tūnga

We are seeking a Team Leader, Partnering and People Operations to provide high quality team leadership and subject matter expertise across a range of areas. This is a 12 month fixed term role.

This role oversees people partnering and leads a small team responsible for delivering high quality and customer focused advice in the areas of recruitment, employment relations, payroll administration and advice, reward and remuneration, job evaluation, reporting, and people polices and guidelines, so knowledge and experience in these areas is essential.

The role is also responsible for EPA’s industrial relations, including management of collective bargaining with the union. 

About you | Mōhou ake 

Essential to your success will be strong relationship management and influencing skills coupled with your ability to stay abreast of employment related legislation, cascading these insights within the People & Capability (P&C) team and relevant stakeholders. You will understand the importance of the role P&C play within the business and support our positive and engaging culture.  

Alongside this you will bring:  

  • experience in industrial relations and bargaining
  • experience working with people data and reporting  
  • knowledge of best practice remuneration and performance approaches  
  • exposure to payroll practices, processes, and systems  
  • team leadership experience (desirable)

Salary range

$118,828 - $178,242 per annum (midpoint $148,535).

This is the full salary range. Appointments are made within the range depending on skills and experience.
