TITLE: Quality Engineer
Location: Carson City, NV (Relocation assistance is available)

Salary: 80K – 86K

JOB SUMMARY:
Develops, applies, and maintains quality requirements and standards for development and manufacturing products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves as a Quality Assurance resource for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting, and continuous improvement.
- Supports concurrent engineering efforts by participating in design development projects representing Quality Assurance and the customer.
- Designs and implements methods for process control, process improvement, testing, and inspection.
- Maintains a working knowledge of the AS9100 and ISO 9000 and ISO14001 requirements.
- Promotes and executes quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents, and reports.
- Assists in process certification.
- Coordinates with production if there is a problem with the product, personnel safety, or potential damage to the equipment and/or tool and process.
- Familiar with programming techniques associated with CMMs, vision systems, and articulating arms.
- Reviews customer's purchase orders, contracts, and change requests and ensures that the necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans.
- Develops, executes, and analyzes quality reporting measures.
- Reports to management on quality issues, trends, and losses.
- Reviews suppliers' purchase orders and establishes supplier quality requirements.
- Participates in internal and external quality audits.
- Interfaces with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality assurance and assures that effective corrective action is implemented.
- May compile, write and deliver training material on quality standards and activities.
- Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
- Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate CB policies and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining clean, orderly, and hazard-free work areas.
- Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter, and be detail-oriented.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
- Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
- Ability to apply mathematical fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Interpret CAD drawings and data comprehension.
- Ability to troubleshoot most any problems dealing with processes or production.
- Use and be familiar with assembly and measuring tools, interpret visual aids, and must be able to perform shop math.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from a four-year college or university in engineering, or a technical field required.
3+ years of Quality Engineering and/or engineering experience required. Certifications and education will be considered in lieu of experience.
2 years GD&T experience or GD&T certification preferred.
1 year audit experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or similar programs.
