Role Description
We are seeking a Senior Mobile Developer with strong expertise in both iOS (SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin) to lead the development of our mobile applications. In this role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create seamless, accessible, and high-performing mobile experiences that empower our users.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping a product that impacts lives positively while working in a fast-paced, purpose-driven startup environment.
This is a 3 month contract, commencing January 27th and completing on April 27th, with the possibility of an extension.
This role is 100% remote and can be done from anywhere in Australia
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and user-friendly mobile applications for iOS (SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin).
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to define and implement innovative solutions that meet user needs and technical requirements.
- Lead the technical architecture and contribute to decision-making processes regarding frameworks, libraries, and tools.
- Ensure mobile applications are optimized for performance, security, and accessibility, with a strong focus on inclusivity.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to recommend improvements and future-proof our applications.
- Work closely with QA to implement and refine testing strategies, ensuring high reliability across platforms.
- Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
- 5+ years of professional experience in mobile application development.
- Expertise in iOS development using SwiftUI.
- Expertise in Android development using Kotlin.
- Strong understanding of mobile UI/UX design principles and ability to work closely with designers.
- Proven experience in building and deploying apps to the App Store and Google Play Store.
- Proficiency with RESTful APIs and integrating backend services.
- Solid understanding of mobile performance optimization and debugging tools.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Desirable:
- Experience with accessibility standards and ensuring applications are WCAG-compliant.
- Familiarity with agile development practices and tools (e.g., Jira, Trello).
- Experience in startup environments or working on mission-driven products.
