Job overview and responsibility

The Head of Product will lead the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for our company’s portfolio of products. This role is pivotal in defining the product direction and ensuring alignment across teams to deliver impactful, high-quality products that meet customer needs and drive growth. The Head of Product will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including engineering, design, sales, and marketing—to oversee product lifecycle management, from ideation to launch and beyond.


Key Responsibilities:


Product Vision & Strategy

- Define and communicate a compelling product vision that aligns with the company’s mission and business goals.

- Develop and implement a strategic roadmap that supports revenue and growth targets.

- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify product opportunities and potential threats.

- Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies to innovate and keep the product line competitive.


Product Development & Lifecycle Management

- Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation to development, launch, and scaling.

- Work with engineering and design teams to translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes.

- Prioritize product backlog and manage release planning to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.

- Monitor and analyze product performance and user feedback, making data-driven decisions to improve and iterate products.


Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Lead and mentor a team of product managers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

- Partner with engineering, design, sales, and marketing to ensure alignment on product goals and objectives.

- Act as a key liaison between the product team and executive leadership to communicate progress, challenges, and insights.

- Collaborate with customer success and support teams to understand customer needs and address product-related issues effectively.


Customer Focus & Market Insight

- Engage with customers, prospects, and partners to gain insights into user needs, pain points, and emerging trends.

- Use qualitative and quantitative data to inform product decisions and prioritize features and enhancements.

- Ensure product design and functionality prioritize user experience and accessibility.


Budgeting & Resource Management

- Develop and manage the product department budget, optimizing resource allocation for maximum impact.

- Partner with finance and operations to align budgeting with product goals and scaling initiatives.


Required skills and experiences

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- 20+ years of experience in product management, with at least 8 - 10 years in a leadership role.

- Proven experience in managing similar scale of product team (10+ mates)

- Proven track record of developing and launching successful products in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working cross-functionally.

- Experience with Agile methodologies and familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, or similar.

- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and rapidly evolving market.


Preferred skills and experiences

- Experience in SaaS, cybersecurity, AI solutions, etc.

- Knowledge of customer experience and user-centered design principles.

- Demonstrated experience in leading a product team through significant growth or transformation.

Notices:

  • New vacancy
  • Will manage 3 the products in our ecosystem: Crypto Trading Platforms, End-to-End Encrypted Messaging App and Live VPN. There will be 3 PM Leads underscope handling each products
  • Sow is split 50% technical and 50% management.
  • Strongly prefer candidates with a background in cybersecurity companies, but it’s not a strict requirement.
  • Must have experience with large-scale products in fast-paced environments (e.g., Big Tech).
  • Looking for candidates with tech background.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a product team through significant growth or transformation. Experience building products from scratch is a bonus.
  • No job hopping (at least 2 - 3 years of tenure in a Head-level position).
  • Born after 1975.
  • Salary range: Up to $150,000 annually.
  • Relocation package offered for overseas Vietnamese (Viet Kieu) or expats.
  • Due to employment and culture fit reasons, we cannot take candidates from Indian subcontinent and those with long tenures in local environments.

Common reasons candidates fail the interview:

  1. Lack of depth: Candidates cannot dive deep into their tasks or only handled small functions of a large product.
  2. Limited creativity: Candidates who worked on stable, maintenance-focused products often lack the ability to innovate and adapt to fast-paced startup environments, which leads to failure in the technical interview.
  3. Non-engineering background.
  4. Tenure too long in one company: Long tenure in a single company may indicate a lack of innovation and adaptability, making them less suitable > Should have more diverse domain knowledge
