With a particular focus on the “IT Commercial Products”, we are looking for a Senior Test Automation Engineer for the cluster Quotation and Booking Engine, which offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of Hapag-Lloyd. The Quotation and Booking Engine (QBE) cluster was launched with the aim of significantly rethinking our customers' quotation and booking experience with maximum automation. This also includes redesigning, rearchitecting and redeveloping all relevant software modules. At the same time the infrastructure foundation is evolving from a mainframe-centric approach to a more distributed and largely cloud-based setup. In this heavily changing, interconnected environment keeping a high quality of all deliverables is essential. We are expanding the hybrid QBE Quality Assurance team, which advises and supports our product development teams on issues relating to "quality", "testing" and "compliance". The “Senior Test Automation Engineer” design and develop testing processes and activities in QBE from continuous delivery processes to end-to-end testing of deliverables.
- Design, develop, and maintain a test automation framework for testing Web UI and REST API.
- Write and maintain automated test scripts using Java.
- Integrate test automation with CI/CD pipelines.
- Collect quality metrics for automation and report the results of automation.
- Manage test data in test environments and integrate with TDM tools.
- Lead test automation strategy and provide guidance to other team members.
- Perform functional, integration, and regression testing on new and existing features.
- Continuously improve and optimize test processes and frameworks to increase efficiency.
- Collaborate with QA engineers from other locations to understand requirements and scenarios.
- Collaborate with multiple development teams and stakeholders to ensure robust test coverage.
Qualifications - BSc/MSc in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience with test automation in Java.
- Strong Java programming skills with a focus on coding best practices and design patterns.
- Expertise in test automation using popular frameworks such as Selenium, JUnit, Rest Assured.
- Proficiency in building test automation frameworks from scratch.
- Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience with testing and automating REST APIs (e.g., Postman).
- Expertise with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab).
- High level of responsibility for results and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- High proficiency in spoken and written English with excellent communication skills.
Nice To Have Skills:
- ISTQB certification (Foundation or Advanced levels).
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and event-driven architecture.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker).
- Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle and development processes.
- Understanding of the test automation pyramid and testing quadrants.
- Familiarity with behavior-driven development (BDD) frameworks such as Cucumber.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and working experience in SCRUM or Kanban.
