AWS Solution Architect – 12 month Contract

Fully Remote in the UK

Up to £650 per day (Inside IR35)

My client are seeking an experienced AWS Solution Architect with expertise in the Migration Accelerate Program (MAP).

In this role, you will lead and guide clients through the complex journey of migrating and modernizing their applications on AWS. You will collaborate with clients, engineers, and project managers to design robust, scalable, and cost-effective cloud architectures that align with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architecting Cloud Solutions: Design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable AWS cloud architectures tailored to client needs, with a focus on migration and modernization.
• Client Engagement: Work closely with clients to understand their business goals, assess existing infrastructure, and develop migration strategies that meet their requirements.
• Migration Planning: Develop detailed migration plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies, to ensure smooth transitions to the AWS cloud.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, ensuring best practices in cloud architecture, security, and cost management are followed.
• Collaboration: Partner with AWS teams, third-party vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Pre-sales Support: Assist in pre-sales activities by providing technical expertise, crafting solution proposals, and participating in client meetings.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest AWS services and solutions, and incorporate this knowledge into client engagements and internal processes.

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in solution architecture, with a focus on cloud technologies.
• Proven experience in leading large-scale AWS migrations and modernization projects.
• Deep expertise in AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of cloud architecture best practices, security, and compliance.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
• Proficiency in designing highly available and disaster recovery solutions in the cloud.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (preferred) or Associate.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
