We are a motion graphics company specializing in creating stunning lyric videos for musicians across various genres. Our team consists of talented, remote designers from around the world, and we’re looking for an experienced and creative leader to guide our team and ensure we deliver the highest quality content to our clients.
Role Overview:
As a Creative Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the creative direction of projects, ensuring the team meets clients’ expectations, and fostering a collaborative, friendly, and highly creative work environment. You’ll play a critical role in guiding designers through the creative process, offering feedback, and pushing the boundaries of motion graphics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creative Leadership: Guide the design team to ensure high-quality motion graphics that meet client specifications. Offer constructive feedback and support throughout the design and animation process. Oversee the storyboard, drafts, and final product, ensuring designs are meeting expectations before sending them to the client for approval.
- Client Interaction: Maintain communication with clients, ensuring their vision is realized and offering solutions when their expectations don’t align with the initial design. You will be the key point of contact for creative approvals.
- Team Support & Mentorship: Support designers through creative blocks, offering ideas, resources, and empathy. Provide advice on motion graphics, design trends, and techniques. Your hands-on involvement will help prevent burnout and ensure top-quality results.
- Training & Development: Help train and mentor new hires, share best practices, and provide ongoing professional development for the team. Encourage the sharing of new design techniques and ideas within the team.
- Maintain Company Culture: Foster a positive and supportive team culture. Participate in team-building activities, celebrate personal milestones (birthdays, holidays, etc.), and maintain an open and empathetic approach to leadership.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Creative Expertise: A strong eye for design, typography, color theory, and current design trends. Ability to create captivating designs and push creative boundaries.
- Motion Graphics Experience: A solid understanding of motion graphics design principles. Experience with tools like Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D, etc., is a must.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Proven experience in a leadership or mentoring role, with the ability to guide and motivate a remote team.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate design ideas to both clients and team members.
- Empathy & Emotional Intelligence: Understanding of how to work with diverse personalities and manage creative burnout or stress.
- Music Enthusiast: A broad interest in various music genres, with the ability to create visuals that resonate with different musical styles (pop, K-pop, rock, indie, etc.).
- Problem Solving: Ability to creatively problem-solve, particularly when a design challenge arises, and the client’s expectations aren’t met.
Additional Preferred Skills:
- Passion for staying updated with the latest trends in motion graphics and design.
- Knowledge or experience with design critique and how to manage differing creative opinions within the team.
