Position description
Our client is seeking a Cloud Platform Engineer to join their team in Lisbon, Portugal, working in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Kubernetes infrastructure, cloud technologies, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, with a focus on building scalable, secure, and efficient systems. Your responsibilities include:
- Design, build, and manage elastic and cost-effective Kubernetes infrastructure (EKS and AKS).
- Collaborate with product teams to implement strategies for Security, Data Protection, and High Availability (HA).
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, AWS CDK, and CloudFormation.
- Implement and manage Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines with tools like ArgoCD and Helm.
- Troubleshoot Linux and Windows server environments, conducting root cause analysis.
- Enhance monitoring and logging systems using Prometheus and the ELK stack.
- Optimize traffic routing (ingress/egress) for cloud infrastructure.
- Develop cost reduction strategies for cloud environments.
- Ensure compliance with security standards while maintaining robust monitoring and logging practices.
For this role, you should have:
- Extensive experience managing Kubernetes infrastructure, specifically EKS and AKS.
- Proficiency with IaC tools such as Terraform, AWS CDK, and CloudFormation.
- Experience with Continuous Deployment tools like ArgoCD and Helm.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with Linux and Windows servers.
- Expertise in scalable, secure cloud system design.
- Familiarity with security and compliance standards in cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with Prometheus monitoring and the ELK logging system.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as TypeScript or Python.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience optimizing cloud infrastructure costs.
- Knowledge of advanced ingress/egress traffic routing strategies.
