The Pega testing team is part of CS- SES and is responsible for testing Pega workflows from end user perspective which is CS agents in this case.
The testers are distributed among multiple cross functional teams (squads) responsible for design and development of Pega Customer Service Workflows.
Role Description:
A Test Engineer is an expert in testing and quality, and ensures these practices are embedded in the development of software changes from design to release. Through collaboration with the whole team, they aim to deliver an exceptional customer experience of both new and existing products at the first attempt.
They test the product, identify and drive improvements to engineering practices and ways of working. Their proactive involvement ensures that testing is part of the conversation from the beginning, aligning with our Test Vision and reduces downstream risks and costs associated with late defect discover
They are the go-to person for major and complex work projects, contributes to implementing strategic test engineering initiatives within their team, and works with the team to prevent defects and rework of changes occurring.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Actively contribute to the tech strategy by providing valuable and software quality
- Stay up to date with new test strategy and plan strategically for possible changes
- Become the ‘Go to’ person for the quality topic for both business and tech stakeholders
- Working with development teams to understand the business needs and identify the quality requirements
- You keep your cool and see possible outages as a critical learning opportunity to improve
- Contribute in inspiring developers, Designers and Product Owners to be quality conscious by providing extensive trainings and workshops about testing culture and best practices
- Show that testing is a shared responsibility, have the ability to collaborate, demonstrate, and incorporate testing feedback quickly with the rest of the team
- Contribute in evaluating our internal testing tools and collaborate to introduce new ones in order to improve ROI.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong test design and execution experience, including front-end testing with low-code applications and knowledge of API testing and design.
- Learner mindset, able to get mentored by experienced test engineers, and willingness to grow and learn test automation.
- Experience in working with agile, multi-functional teams, and multiple testing teams, with a strong quality and collaborative approach.
- Strong team player, able to align teams together and onboard new team members.
- Solid understanding of testing craft and fundamentals like exploratory testing, shift-left testing, and ensuring features are crafted and implemented in a testable way.
- Experience in test estimation and backlog planning, and using tools like Postman to validate backends.
- Relevant knowledge of Pega product and testing is a plus.
