To support these initiatives, they are seeking a Software Engineering Manager – AI to lead a high-performing engineering team focused on cutting-edge AI solutions.
Role Overview
As the Software Engineering Manager – AI, you will oversee the design, development, and deployment of AI-driven software solutions that support the bank’s strategic initiatives. Working in a hybrid model with just 1 day a week in the Berlin office, you will lead a team of talented engineers, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and contribute to transforming how the bank leverages AI in financial services.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers focused on AI-driven solutions, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Oversee the design and development of scalable AI applications for fraud detection, customer personalization, risk analysis, and other key use cases.
• Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and senior leadership to define project goals and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Drive the implementation of best practices in software development, architecture, and deployment, ensuring security, scalability, and performance.
• Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure successful execution of AI initiatives.
• Stay updated on advancements in AI, machine learning, and financial technology to keep the team’s solutions innovative and competitive.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges during development and deployment.
• Build a culture of continuous learning, encouraging the team to adopt new technologies and improve skillsets.
Requirements
• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams.
• Strong technical expertise in AI and machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn) and programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++).
• Proven experience delivering AI-powered software solutions, ideally within the financial services or fintech sectors.
• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure and deployment (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices architecture.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong focus on performance optimization and scalability.
• Ability to effectively manage stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Strong knowledge of security and compliance requirements in financial services.
• Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
