Position Description

As the HVAC Product Technical Advisor, your role encompasses a range of tasks aimed at providing timely and efficient technical services, support, and training for assigned product lines to cater to business needs and meet customer requirements. Located in the BC Sales Office, you will also handle related administrative responsibilities, including generating reports, communicating with stakeholders, and preparing RSA & warranty claim documentation.


Customer Support & Product Sales:

  • Offer effective technical assistance to customers in resolving technical issues related to residential & light commercial HVAC products. This can be accomplished through communication with the Head Office and customers via email, telephone, or on-site visits to facilitate troubleshooting.
  • Provide targeted support for product sales to achieve specific annual sales targets.


Training:

  • Develop training curriculum aligned with business requirements, including creating training presentations, materials, and other necessary documents.
  • Implement the training schedule and conduct training sessions as planned and requested by customers.


Technical Administration and Services:

  • Collaborate with the BC Sales Management Team (Residential & Commercial) to ensure all BC staff stays informed about new product information, installations, services, and user and parts manuals.


General:

  • Carry out all tasks in accordance with department and Company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Suggest and participate in the development of new products and solutions when required.
  • Act as a backup resource for other technical support functions as needed.
  • Provide regular updates to the Residential Business Manager BC.
  • Fulfill any other assigned duties.


Experience

Minimum of 5 years of field experience providing service support for HVAC products.


Qualifications

  • Hold an HVAC Mechanic, Technician, or other relevant certification related to the HVAC field.
  • Have a valid Certificate of Qualification in Refrigeration.
  • Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of residential & light commercial air conditioning and heat pump systems, with proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with ductless split systems and VRF technology.
  • Exhibit good interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Previous experience leading classroom-based technical training is beneficial.
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Be capable of working independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Be willing and able to travel approximately 30-40% of the year.
  • Hold a valid Driver’s License and have access to a reliable vehicle.


Education

  • Have a valid Certificate of Qualification in Refrigeration.
  • Hold an HVAC Mechanic, Technician, or other relevant certification related to the HVAC field.
