Our client, eu-LISA, is currently recruiting for a Java Developer and Systems Architect in Strasbourg, France, working fulltime onsite.

Eu-LISA is an EU agency responsible for maintaining critical tech infrastructure that supports the Schengen Area and EU justice systems.

The position is located in Strasbourg, France with relocation needed.


About the job

You will join the Technology and Software Engineering Unit that is responsible for overseeing the successful technical implementation of all core IT business systems and solutions managed by eu-LISA.

As a Systems Architect and Developer, you’ll design, deploy, and maintain high-quality systems, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and well-structured. You'll build robust architectures, write efficient code, and collaborate with developers to meet project specifications.


The technical stack includes:

  • microservices architecture
  • containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift)
  • Java development
  • GitHub, SonarQube, ArgoCD, Helm


Your tasks:

  • analyse technical and business requirements with a view of their implementation in the designs
  • design and implement the architecture of complex ICT solutions and their integration layers
  • ensure incorporation of security by design
  • identify and further assess technology and architecture innovation
  • implement continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline the development and release processes
  • implement and enhance DevSecOps practices and automation workflows with focus on the deployment and operational model
  • active involvement in every step of the software engineering process: design, development, deployment, troubleshooting
  • design and implement Java distributed systems, event-driven architectures and messaging systems (especially using Apache Kafka), aligned with business objectives and technical requirements


You would need to have:

  • at least 2 years of solid professional experience
  • university degree of at least three years, preferably in IT and/or engineering or similar from a EU country
  • excellent in English both orally and in writing (at least at the C1 level)
  • if you have experience in Agile practices and Public Cloud technologies and understand the microservices architecture principles and patterns, it will be considered an asset.

basic salary including the cost of living adjustment for France (currently 17%):

  • €4,780 (5 years of experience)
  • €5,430 (5 – 17 years of experience)
  • €6,950 (more than 17 years of experience)

Your salary may be further enhanced through additional allowances tailored to your family situation and expatriation status. Salaries are exempt from national taxation. relocation support package
