System Engineer in ITALY

About the Role:

We are seeking a System Engineer to join our team. You will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization's IT infrastructure. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our systems.

As a mid-senior System Engineer with 3+ years of working experience in IT, you’re requested to leverage your technical expertise and industry knowledge to assess systems, provide solutions to issues that arise, design, upgrade and maintain systems and brainstorm possible improvements that can be made to our system in the future.

Key Responsibilities

• System Design and Implementation:

Design, implement, and maintain complex IT systems.

Ensure systems meet organizational needs and industry best practices.

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

Optimize system performance and efficiency.

• Infrastructure Management:

Manage and maintain server, network, and storage infrastructure.

Implement and manage virtualization and cloud technologies.

Configure and maintain network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).

• Security:

Implement and enforce security policies and procedures.

Conduct security assessments and vulnerability scans.

Respond to security incidents and threats.

• Team Collaboration:

Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure smooth operations.

Provide technical guidance and support to team members.

Document system configurations and procedures.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure and Office 365, including the design, implementation, and management of cloud solutions.
• Capable of administering core Azure services (VMs, Azure AD, Storage, Networking, Firewall, Sentinel, Azure SQL).
• Proficiency with both Linux/Unix and Windows Server operating systems.
• Proficiency in scripting with PowerShell, Python, Bash especially for automation, deployment, and infrastructure management tasks.
• Skilled in using Azure monitoring and security tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Sentinel) for proactive system monitoring, security threat analysis, and compliance management.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in English and Italian.

Bonus points:

• Microsoft Certifications: Preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect, Microsoft 365 Certified, or similar.
• DevOps and CI/CD: Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines, enhancing continuous integration and delivery across cloud solutions.
