Quality Assurance Automation Engineer in HANOI CAPITAL REGION

Our client in Hanoi, Vietnam is seeking an Automation QA Engineer to enhance software quality and drive continuous improvement in their testing processes. As an Automation QA Engineer, you will contribute to improving their product quality by developing manual and automated tests, assisting their engineering team and customers in investigating issues in production, and creating detailed reports of issues discovered during testing or production.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured automated and manual test cases for in-house software development.
• Increase and maintain automation scripts within the internal CI/CD system.
• Perform exploratory testing for features in each release.
• Conduct hardware testing on company products.
• Plan and execute stress testing activities for software drivers used in industrial devices.
• Plan and execute testing for computer vision and robotic algorithms.
• Assist in troubleshooting issues faced by engineers and customers on-site.
• Create detailed reports for development teams on issues detected during testing and production.
• Collaborate with Product Owners (POs) to refine user stories and requirements for better product quality.

Industry Background: Strong tech background required; prior experience in robotics is not mandatory.

Must-Have Skills:

• At least 2 years of general testing experience, with a minimum of 1 year in automated software testing for Web UI, APIs, or Desktop applications.
• Solid knowledge of testing methodologies: regression testing, integration testing, smoke testing, exploratory testing, etc.
• Proficiency in test design using techniques such as Boundary Value Analysis, Equivalence Class Partitioning, Decision Tables, and Error Guessing.
• Experience with at least one programming language: Python (preferred), Java, etc.
• Familiarity with one or more automation testing libraries and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber, Appium, Robot Framework (preferred), Cypress, Playwright, etc.).
• Experience working within agile development teams, employing a BDD/TDD approach, and supporting developers with shift-left testing in the early stages.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to consult with the development team effectively.
• A collaborative team player with a willingness to learn and improve.
• Proficient in English communication.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
• Experience in desktop application testing.
• Proficiency in Linux environments and shell scripting.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields (e.g., Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with significant exposure to Computer Science).
• Experience working with electrical or mechanical automation systems.
• Prior experience in robotics or related technologies, such as motion planning, control systems, computer vision, or AI.
