Role Overview
We are on the hunt for a skilled and hands-on Senior SEO Specialist to join our team. This is a role for someone who not only has advanced expertise in all aspects of SEO but also thrives on getting into the nitty-gritty of optimisation and driving measurable results. If you have at least 5 years of hands-on experience, a strong understanding of advanced SEO practices, and are an expert user of tools like SEMrush, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Technical SEO
- Conduct in-depth technical audits to identify and resolve issues affecting search engine crawlability, indexability, and site health.
- Implement schema markup, structured data, and canonical tags.
- Optimise site speed and mobile responsiveness to align with core web vitals standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues flagged in Google Search Console.
On-Page SEO
- Perform advanced keyword research and mapping to optimise existing pages and create new, high-value content.
- Craft compelling meta titles, descriptions, headers, and optimised content.
- Execute internal linking strategies to enhance crawl depth and user navigation.
Off-Page SEO
- Build and maintain a robust backlink profile through high-quality outreach campaigns.
- Manage relationships with authoritative sites for guest posting opportunities.
- Monitor and disavow toxic backlinks.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Leverage SEMrush and other tools to track organic performance metrics, keyword rankings, and competitor activity.
- Generate detailed performance reports with actionable insights for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Continuously optimise based on data trends and algorithm updates.
Collaboration
- Work alongside the content, web development, and PPC teams to integrate SEO into broader marketing strategies.
- Provide guidance on SEO best practices for new website builds and redesigns.
Qualifications
Experience and Expertise
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on SEO experience, preferably in an agency setting.
- Proven track record of improving rankings for competitive keywords across various industries.
- Deep understanding of search engine algorithms and technical SEO principles.
Technical Proficiency
- Expert-level familiarity with tools like SEMrush, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, and Ahrefs.
- Advanced knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and how these impact SEO.
- Experience with CMS platforms like WordPress and Shopify, including SEO plugin management.
Analytical and Organisational Skills
- Highly analytical mindset with the ability to derive insights from complex data sets.
- Strong project management skills with experience juggling multiple clients or campaigns.
Soft Skills
- Clear and confident communicator who can explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
