Location: 100% Remote

Duration: 6 months contract with possible extension

Job Description:

As an AWS Config. Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Config. solutions for AWS services. The role involves developing orchestration blueprints to implement and maintain policies to evaluate and track application Config. using AWS Config. Hub.


You need to have a strong understanding of AWS services and their APIs, as well as comprehensive experience with application Config. concepts, such as:

  • Disaster Recovery -> Backup & Restore, Failover & Failback
  • High Availability -> Resilient Applications and Databases
  • Observability -> Alert Management, Detection & Investigation, Standard Operational Procedures (SOP)
  • Testing -> Chaos Engineering
  • Posture Analysis -> Config. Scoring and perpetual Config. checks

You will assist in creating a new practice, which will be used to improve the efficiency of our current Operational Readiness Requirements process which in turn will help applications to meet their defined SLO, RPO and RTO targets.

Your extensive experience in various technologies coupled with solid knowledge in AWS CDK, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, CI/CD (Continuous Improvement/Continuous Delivery) and CaC (Configuration-As-Code) will be great assets for this initiative.

Your regular functions will involve planning, designing, developing, and implementing AWS Config. Hub policies, following the strategy for Operational Readiness Reviews and production go-live governance.


Your main responsibilities include:

  • Conduct Proof-of-Concept (POCs) and present results.
  • Implement Config. policies using AWS Config. Hub in Sandbox and Production environments.
  • Develop and implement automation scripts using AWS CDK that interact with AWS cloud services by leveraging the AWS APIs to provision new components and policies.
  • Leading technical discussions in governance calls.’
  • Interacting with the various governance teams and senior management to ensure cloud projects adhere to defined standards.
  • Ensure product aligns with the target state of the defined strategy.
  • Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility and eagerness to learn.
