Job Description Overview
As a Technical Content Manager at Iron Software, you will bridge our product development, marketing research, and sales/support needs to create impactful, developer-focused content. You'll work closely with the engineering and product teams to translate technical capabilities into compelling, accessible resources. Your goal is to shape the messaging and documentation around our products, ensuring our content not only educates but also drives adoption. Success in this role involves collaborating with marketing and development teams to create high-quality content that meets our standards, the needs of our customers, and our SEO targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage Content Development and Strategy
- Organize and lead a team of technical writers to create, review, and publish high-quality technical documentation, tutorials, and other content.
- Coordinate regular meetings to address content blockers, ensure project alignment, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Compile and analyze content performance reports and metrics to assess reach and impact and make data-driven adjustments as needed.
Develop and Oversee Content Projects
- Define content project scope, objectives, and timelines in collaboration with stakeholders, prioritizing content according to marketing, sales, and user needs.
- Implement and oversee content production plans, schedules, and timelines, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to deadlines.
- Monitor project progress using tools like Jira, Trello, and OKRs, identifying risks and implementing strategies to ensure timely and effective content delivery.
Maintain Content Quality and Consistency
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, dev, and technical support, to maintain brand voice and ensure content consistency.
- Oversee the quality assurance processes for content, ensuring that it meets high standards of accuracy, clarity, and relevance, as well as aligning with product updates and feature releases.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in content creation, technical writing, or a related field, with some exposure to managing projects or coordinating with teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Computer Science, English, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for varied audiences.
- Basic understanding of project management principles and familiarity with tools like Trello, Jira, or similar.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams, with good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with content management and familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Exposure to software development processes or experience working in a tech-focused environment.
- Familiarity with technical content formats like API documentation, tutorials, or user guides.
- Knowledge of basic SEO principles and how they apply to technical content.
- Interest in learning about modern technologies and trends to adapt content for emerging developer needs.
