As a Cloud Engineer in the Platform Team,you will play a crucial role in the migration of Hadoop-based systems to AWS. Your responsibilities will include setting up and managing cloud infrastructure, ensuring seamless data replication, and optimizing the performance of data processing systems. You will work closely with other engineering teams to ensure the migration is smooth and efficient, adhering to best practices and industry standards.
1. Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure for data replication and processing.
2. Configure and maintain AWS services such as S3, EMR, Glue, and Redshift/Snowflake.
3. Migrate on-premise Hadoop components (e.g., HDFS, Hive, HBase) to AWS.
4. Set up and manage data replication processes between on-premise and AWS environments.
5. Optimize performance and scalability of cloud-based data processing systems.
6. Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
7. Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure and data replication issues.
8. Implement and manage security controls to protect data and infrastructure.
9. Collaborate with Data Engineers and other teams to ensure data integrity and availability.
10. Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and best practices.
11. Automate repetitive tasks and processes to improve efficiency.
12. Conduct regular performance reviews and capacity planning for cloud resources.
13. Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and industry trends.
14. Provide support for disaster recovery and backup strategies.
15. Perform root cause analysis for system failures and implement corrective actions.
16. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry regulations.
17. Participate in on-call support rotation for infrastructure issues.
18. Assist in the development of migration strategies and plans.
19. Develop and execute test plans to ensure successful migration.
20. Contribute to knowledge sharing and training for other team members.
