THE ROLE & THE TEAM
As a
Senior Software Engineer within the
Returns and Overarching Services department, you will be instrumental in evolving our growing Returns Solutions for our new projects and initiatives. This role will place you in a critical team, where you will be involved in the development and optimization of services and applications crucial for the processing of millions of returned items through our expansive Logistics network. Your work will not only impact the immediate processing of returns but also play a pivotal role in the refurbishment and sortation processes, ensuring items are swiftly reintegrated into our inventory.
Beyond the immediate scope of returns, the team also contributes to the maintenance and enhancement of critical infrastructure that supports the entirety of our Logistics operations. You will join an organization consisting of multiple teams, supported by the same Principal Engineer and Engineering Manager. The different teams regularly come together as one larger organization and collaborate on projects helping each other.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)
- Drive proofs of concept, pilots and technology evaluations to accelerate the onboarding of new technologies and solution designs
- Manage your service from the architecture to testing, deployment and operation in an agile environment
- Deliver high-performance, resilient and scalable distributed system landscape that handles large amounts of data while continuously enabling a high pace of change and innovation by working with your development and product team
- Contributing to our growing tech community and encouraging knowledge sharing
WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF
- You have at least 5 years of professional programming experience with significant expertise in Java and/or other JVM-based such as Kotlin or Scala .
- You are experienced with different relevant frameworks (Spring, Ktor , etc.)
- You have experience in microservice architecture, distributed systems and RESTful APIs using relevant technologies
- You demonstrate experience with event-driven architecture, including proficiency with Kafka or similar technologies.
- Experienced with the design, maintenance, and implementation of relational databases such as PostgreSQL
- Some experience with JavaScript or TypeScript, preferably with React framework
- Effective communication skills in English and ability to understand business requirements
